Claire Tylcoat appointed as F&B manager at Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa

Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa has strengthened its five-star food and beverage offering with the appointment of Claire Tylcoat as Mansion House F&B Manager.

In her role, Claire will oversee the operations of the hotel’s 2 AA Rosette Wernher Restaurant, working closely with Head Chef Ruth Hansom, as well as dining in the hotel’s beautifully ornate lounges.

Claire joins the team at Luton Hoo from fellow five-star hotel The Grove, where she spent 14 years with roles including restaurant manager of the Stables restaurant, bar and players’ lounge, welcoming hundreds of covers a week. 

Claire holds the unique accolade of being the only person in the UK hotel industry to have been awarded the prestigious title in tea production, cultivation, tasting and education: The Ronnefeldt TeaMaster® Gold.

In order to achieve the Gold level qualification, Claire spent two years studying, including time spent working in tea plantations and factories in Sri Lanka, as well as sitting a two-hour written exam on cultivation and processing of tea and conducting a bling tea tasting.

Speaking after her appointment, Claire said: “I really love everything about Luton Hoo – especially its tradition and the fantastic stories behind the building and the hotel. My aim is to build on those stories and captivate people through our food and beverage offerings; I’m particularly excited to work with Ruth in the Wernher Restaurant to aim for 3 AA Rosettes and to develop our afternoon tea service. The team has been so welcoming, I’m excited to share my passion for tea with them and look at new initiatives for Luton Hoo, such as tea gastronomy, tea mixology and tea masterclasses.”
