Five-star countryside hotel Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa has celebrated the hard work and dedication of its assistant C&B manager Ebony Dolly by naming her employee of the year.
Ebony, who has worked at the luxury hotel since 2015, was awarded the accolade of the employee of the year for her exceptional guest service, her mentoring of new team members and her positive and supportive attitude.
The award was presented to Ebony on Friday 4 January by the general manager of Luton Hoo Hotel, Matthew Long, at the hotel’s annual staff party. The winner of the award was chosen by the hotel’s senior management team, who voted on a shortlist of staff nominated by their department heads for the award.
Stephen D'Cunha, C&B manager and Ebony’s line manager, said: “Ebony is one of the friendliest people I know, she always arrives with a smile on her face and a happy greeting for everyone. She delivers a fantastic guest experience and has received glowing feedback from clients, and her colleagues love working with her too. She goes above and beyond her job role, taking on extra responsibilities and mentoring and training new members of the team, and is focused, reliable and flexible at all times – a true asset to the hotel.”
Speaking after receiving her award, Ebony said: “Being named employee of the year was completely unexpected, and I was so overcome with emotion that I cried! It felt rewarding knowing that the managers around me had recognised my hard work and dedication to the company. I love working at Luton Hoo – the C&B team feel like my second family, they’ve been very supportive and hardworking and I can’t express my gratitude enough. The busy Christmas period showed how important it is to pull together as a team, and I think teamwork really is the most important skill to have in this job. Working in events is my passion and I hope to do so for a long time.”
