The Grand Hotel celebrates Long Service Awards

The Grand in Eastbourne has honoured 30 of its longest-serving members of staff, who all received Long Service Awards at a celebration lunch.

This celebration recognises members of staff who have been working at The Grand, part of the Elite Hotel Group, for over five years with those who have reached a five-year milestone receiving an award.

At The Grand there are seven members of staff celebrating five years of service, two being rewarded for 10 years of service, three who have reached 15 years of service and two who have been with the company for 20 years and one celebrating 25 years of service. Special recognition will go to June Pockett, PA to the general manager Jonathan Webley, who is celebrating 40 years of service at the hotel.

Staff from all departments were honoured and the number of staff receiving Long Service Awards is a testament to the investment and emphasis The Grand puts into the training and development programmes to help staff build long and successful careers in hospitality.

Those receiving awards were honoured at a lunch at The Grand Hotel, presented with their awards by Elite Hotels managing director Graeme Bateman, and all received a one or two night stay in an Elite Hotel of their choice.

Jonathan Webley, general manager at The Grand Hotel, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be honouring so many staff with their Long Service Awards in 2017. We work hard to create an environment where people not only enjoy their work but also have the opportunity to develop their career within the group.”
