Victoria has spent the majority of her working life in hospitality, but did enjoy a brief stint as a florist and found that green hands were not a look she was keen on!
With knowledge of reception, reservations and revenue management within the hospitality industry, Victoria worked for a local competitor and saw a vacancy at Ashdown Park Hotel. Being aware of the well-regarded training offered by the Elite Group and the hotels’ reputation as an outstanding place to work, she was keen to further her career in the beautiful and luxurious confines of Ashdown Park Hotel.
Starting out in reservations, Victoria took a career break to spend time with her young family in 2015. Returning once again to Ashdown Park in 2016 into the Personnel team as an administrator, she quickly found her niche and when a new vacancy arose earlier in 2018, Victoria was promoted to Personnel and Development Officer.
Like all of her previous jobs, she loves the variety that comes with working in hospitality and it is the people employed at Elite that really make the difference. For anyone else looking at hospitality as a career, Victoria’s advice is “just go for it!”.
Victoria’s latest promotion is the highlight of her time at Elite so far and credits Ashdown Park for providing her with the training opportunities that led her to this role; “I have had plenty of training from internal and external trainers, including guest experience, Savvy Selection and Conversation. The training given to the staff here is a regular feature and there is support for industry recognised qualifications too!"
